A loose-lay product is designed around a specific backing and installation approach. Depending on room size and use, the instructions may call for tackifier or perimeter restraint. Never assume that every loose-lay product is completely adhesive-free.
Glue-down systems
Dry-back LVT is designed to bond to a suitable prepared substrate using approved adhesive. The installation plan should address moisture, flatness, surface preparation, adhesive and curing conditions.
Specification comparison
Ask for installed-system requirements, total thickness, wear layer, relevant tests, carton coverage and maintenance instructions. Match these against the project instead of selecting only by price or nominal thickness.
