SPC flooring typically uses a rigid mineral-filled core, while luxury vinyl tile is a broader category that can include flexible dry-back products and click-system constructions. The correct product terminology should be taken from the manufacturer’s actual data sheet, not inferred from a decorative photograph.
Compare the full build-up
Request a cross-section showing total thickness, wear layer, decorative film, core, integrated backing if offered, surface finish and locking profile. A total-thickness number alone does not tell you how a floor will perform. Verify any claims against relevant testing.
Match the installation system
SPC click, LVT click, dry-back and loose-lay products have different installation requirements. Ask for the approved subfloor tolerance, moisture limits, underlayment rules, adhesive details where applicable and expansion guidance. A buyer should not promise an installation method that the product supplier has not documented.
Build a market-ready assortment
Pick two or three decorating directions, agree on approved physical samples, record the exact specification by SKU and compare delivered quotations. Consider customer support, spare stock, damage allowance and packaging information along with appearance.
